Missing 50-year-old man who went missing from Dauphin in late April found safe: RCMP

A 50-year-old man who went missing on late April after setting off on the road for a small southern Manitoba village has been found safe.

Man had told his family he was planning to travel to Somerset, Man., but never got there

A 50-year-old man who went missing on late April after setting off on the road for a small southern Manitoba village has been found safe.

Manitoba RCMP said the man told his family he was planning to travel to Somerset, roughly 120 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg, but he never got there.

He was last heard of on April 30 in the southwestern city of Dauphin, over 200 kilometres north of Somerset. He was reported missing on May 8.

In a news release on Friday, RCMP said the man had been found safe. 

CBC has removed the man's name and photo now that he has been found.
