The National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China has identified several malicious foreign websites and IP addresses that have been used by overseas hacker groups to launch cyberattacks against China and other countries, according to an official announcement published on Friday.

The identified malicious IPs and websites were primarily traced back to the US, Sweden, and India, the announcement stated.

The malicious sites and IPs are closely associated with specific trojan programs or their command-and-control servers. The attacks involve the creation of botnets, backdoor exploitation, and data theft, posing a significant threat to connected institutions and internet users in China, it noted.

Among the nine malicious IP addresses, seven were traced to locations in the US including California, Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, and Virginia.
